Client Experience

We were so impressed with the excellent service that John provided us that he was our real estate agent for three separate transactions: selling a townhouse in San Jose, and buying and later selling a house in Menlo Park.

John is knowledgeable, friendly, and importantly zero pressure. We never feel that he encouraged us to go in any direction or just close the deal. He provided us the information we needed to make decisions and laid out our options at each juncture.

John has a great set of contractors and other professionals behind him. He is the sole reason we were able to easily turn our house around from a rental to getting it on the market in less than a week while we were out of state in the middle of a pandemic. He coordinated all contractors, took possession of keys, ensured work was done on time and done well, and coordinated with us every step along the way. We really would not have been able to handle all of that work ourselves and owe him a big thanks for taking care of things so well.

There are so many wonderful things to say about John King. He is a great communicator, very well connected in the Palo Alto housing market, has excellent resources to get a house ready for sale, and he gets the job done!

For my family, he rented a home to a well qualified couple. And now he has sold the family home, guiding us through preparing it for sale and accomplishing the price we hoped for.
The best!

John was amazing throughout the process of preparing my condo for market, then listing and selling it. He is incredibly knowledgeable as well as very adept at navigating the ups and downs of selling a home. When unexpected events arose he was extremely responsive and helpful, and was a calming influence. He works very hard and is one of the nicest people imaginable. I am confident that I had the best representation in John, and recommend him whole-heartedly.

I love John King!! He helped my husband and I find our home. It felt like a long process since we put bids on like 4 or 5 houses, and 3 of them were short sales. John kept in touch every step of the way. Our closing was delayed which was the fault of my dumb mortgage broker, but whenever I talked to John, he completely made me feel at ease. I think he is so great and the girl who works in his office, I think her name is Julie, is really nice too!

I have used John King for several different transactions. He helped me purchase an investment property. He has also helped my daughter buy her house, my son buy his house. I've also referred him to several friends and clients. Service is important to me and I like that when I call John he is quick to respond to my requests. I'd highly recommend him to help you sell/buy a home.

I have worked with John for about 3 years as his Home Stager. I can easily say that he is an agent that does what he says, is an experienced polished professional that knows the market really well. John is exceptional with his clients and always considers each listing as unique therefore, customizing the needs of each client. I would definitely recommend him!

We purchased our home through John King about 20 years ago! John helped us find the perfect place in the right price range. The transaction was smooth and we have been happy ever since. Also, John King is an all-around nice guy. We would definitely use him again.

John represented us when we bought our house and he was outstanding. He successfully dealt with a "challenging" seller and their agent, and got the deal done on terms that we felt were very fair. He keeps in close contact and I always felt like he was working 100% for me. I recommend him highly and would use him again in a heartbeat.

I was a first-time home buyer when I found John King. I am a meticulous person and I research EVERYTHING. John came highly recommended by several people. I went to interview him and he spent almost two hours with me, talking through his business practice/principles and getting to know me. Before I hired him! TWO HOURS! No joke, I had a list of about 50 questions that you're supposed to ask when you hire a realtor and he answered all of them almost before I could finish my question.

For the sake of clarity I'm going to go with bullet points:

- John has been in the business for 30+ years and you can tell. No question I ever asked threw him. He has really good dynamic on home-buying in the Bay Area since he's worked here for so long and has been through all the boom and bust cycles. This was invaluable when we were trying to figure out what to offer on our house.
- John knows EVERYONE. Everyone. For real. Ask him to name a company for any service and he can tell you who to hire and why. He also has worked with most real estate agents around here so he knows what's up.
- John is incredibly ethical. I can see how the real estate business could invite lots of dodgy stuff. He is just one of those people who exudes integrity. I always really trusted him because I knew he had my best interests in mind and would be my advocate no matter what.
- As mentioned above, I always go into situations with 800 million questions. I never ever, not even once, got the sense that John was in a hurry, or didn't have time for me. He always had an answer for me. And he was always responsive to my calls/emails/texts (returning emails within 15 minutes on the weekend.... what??)

The best thing for me was that John has such a calm demeanor. Buying a home is incredibly stressful and the anxiety can be overwhelming. John just doesn't get frazzled. He's seen and done it all. I don't think anything could really throw him. I asked him why, and he joked about how it's because he has five teenagers in the house so he has to be calm!

It is very, very rare to meet a professional like John and I feel like I won the realtor lottery when I hired him. I wholeheartedly recommend him and if I ever have enough money to buy another property (ha ha!) I would hire him again in a heartbeat.
